Hayes Fry Law

2022

Hayes Fry Law engaged with Ms. Mzvondiwa to educate our team on workplace harassment and violence in the legal industry. The program detailed the current industry standards, with a focus on practical situations and how to approach uncomfortable issues. Ms. Mzvondiwa explained highly sensitive and serious topics in an engaging manner, ensuring that the focus was on having a “conversation” with our team, rather than presenting a lecture. As a diverse company, Ms. Mzvondiwa did an excellent job at tailoring our presentation to create awareness of cultural sensitivities and how easily misinterpretation can occur in the workplace. Engaging with workplace harassment and violence training has assisted Hayes Fry Law in developing effective processes for any employee or client that feels they have experienced a form of workplace harassment or violence. Hayes fry Law would highly recommend Ms. Mzvondiwa, with her wealth of knowledge, to educate on workplace violence and harassment!

Rajinder Kaur

2018

My name is Rajinder Kaur and I am from India. I have always wanted an opportunity to visit Canada as I have heard a lot about the country. The opportunity came when my brother moved and settled in Canada. I wanted to visit him and my sister in law. When I asked my brother if I could visit, he agreed. I was anxious about navigating the system and apply for the visitor visa. I had heard that once you are denied a visa it is hard to get one granted. I did not want to give it a chance. My sister-in law refereed me to Ahoy Canada Immigration consulting. I worked with Cecilia Mzvondiwa. I really appreciated her professionalism, honesty and candour. She told me she was going to do what she can to ensure that all the requirements are met, Documents are filled in properly and the application submitted timely. I got my visa, and enjoyed my 6 months visit to Canada Alberta. Thank you Cecilia for making it hustle free and possible to visit Canada. Now I will be engaging her to help me with application for a student visa

2011

After 15 years of teaching in Zimbabwe, I was looking for opportunities outside the country thinking of my son’s future. That opportunity came through the Alberta Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) I engaged Cecilia Mzvondiwa who walked alongside my process which started end of 2008 and saw us land as permanent residents of Canada in May of 2011. I have since received my citizenship! Yes within 5 years! I am grateful for the opportunity to live in Canada and have been able to do a lot of things I would never had done for myself and my son. Except for the Cold, I like Canada for the peace and opportunities. I have appreciated Cecilia’s knowledge, efficiency and care for her clients.

Having Cecilia N. Mzvondiwa represent my case was such a blessing. She came with a no- nonsense attitude and plan. We were able to quickly resolve matters, where my previous attorney happily drew out our case. In a matter of months vs years! I highly recommend her to anyone needing advice or representation. Thanks again for everything Cecilia

I met Cecilia back in 2014 when she started attending my dance classes. From the start she brought a great smile and energy to the room, and you could tell she loved to dance – and she still does almost 10 years later! I then required her services as a lawyer in 2023 when an issue relating to cultural appropriation was brought to my attention in my workplace. It was a scary time for me as a business owner – I questioned what I knew about cultural appropriation, racism, equity and inclusion. I realised I had a lot to learn if I wanted to continue doing the right thing by my students, team, and community – but the right thing was not clear for me in this instance. Cecilia helped me navigate the rough waters, she helped me clarify the issue, and then make a decision with that information. She helped me prepare a statement and to feel good about my decision. She did this with kindness, education and passion. She then presented at a seminar I attended and I was blown away by the depth of her experience, and her understanding of how uncomfortable it is to talk about issues surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion – but also how important it is. She is leading the way on having those difficult conversations, but making them accessible for all. I have now read her book and feel much better equipped to lead my business, my team and also my family in this changing world. Cecilia’s vision is that first and foremost we are all HUMAN – and I can’t get behind this enough. Thank you Cecilia for helping guide me towards being a more inclusive, kind, confident and loving leader and human. n edit text on your

I was represented better than I could have ever imagined. My needs were put first and was treated as a friend rather than a number. My opinions were valued, and my doubts were always reassured. My nerves were calmed, and the process was always explained. Lawyer Cecilia and consultant Laurie Singh fought hard for me. They went above and beyond and did everything they could to ensure a great outcome. I couldn’t have asked for a better law firm or lawyer than you and your team. Thank you so much. God Bless you my people.
